I interviewed one of my friends to help get a better perspective as how audiojack can make this competition that much more attractive. Here is her response to the questions i asked.

Profile:

My name is Eleesha Smith and I am 28 years old. I work full-time and also study part time. My hobbies are cooking, singing and of course listening to music.
I mostly enjoy listening to R'n'b and soul music and occasionally other types of music.
In the future I hope to have my own business and be successful.

Q: What would get you into this competition and why?
A: I love singing and I love music. This is right up my street and I would definitely enter this competition to see whether I have what it takes to record great music

Q: what would make you want to share this with your friends?
A: It sounds fun and I have a lot of friends who would be interested or find this interesting- that's one of the main reasons why I would share this. Also I feel we have the skills that it takes, which I know we could have a chance to show off our talent.

Q: What would be the most exciting part of this competition to you?
A: The most exciting part would be to sing and show off my talent, having the opportunity to visit a professional recording studio/environment.

Q: If you were to excel onto the next level of this competition, What would you do differently?
A: I would improve by getting as much practice as I could by being focused and dedicated. Being open to different styles of music in order to be versatile.

Q: Would you want the competition to be a yearly thing, or just a one off?
A: It depends on whether the competition changes each year to keep it interesting or whether it was the same every year.

Here is another response to the questions that I got from a girl called Natasha:

My Name is Natasha Lewis. I am 15, and I attend school but I also have a huge desire to sing. When I am at school i write lyrics daily. It is the thing I love the most, and its all i think about.I live at home with my mum and dad, and on sundays I sing at my local church. I’m well known for my singing. I do it for the people and the response I get.

The thing that would get me into the competition wouldn't be the prize, but my love for singing.

The thing that  would be the most exiting part, would be performing on stage,if I ever got the chance to.

If i was to excel i would maybe change up the genre a little bit.

I believe it should be a yearly thing.

Naomi will be concluding the end results of these two profiles.

Concerning the product, I was thinking that the prize could also have the contestant shoot a music video along with their track. It adds more to the experience and the dream, including the appeal. Also Ravensbourne could build more of a bond with audio-jack, if the broadcast people would be willing to shoot and direct the music video for the contestant that wins.

This is a promotional video that i did for audiojack. Since audio symbolises sound, I modelled a headphone  in a 3d software to represent that. I added all of the special effect in after effects to help boast the theme of an audio-jacked headphone symbolizing the company's characteristics.

Audiojack - Strategy
My initial vision to this strategy is to be more up close and personal, rather than the viral means of marketing over the internet. And so here are the phases of the strategy.

1) I call this phase (evangelism). Printing flyers with all the necessary information about Audiojack and the competition. There’s a site called (flyerzone) that prints 5,000 flyers for only £41.47 which is a bargain and this leads into phase two.

2) Buying blank CDs. Argos is selling a 50 pack spindle for £9.99 each, we could buy them from there. The reason for this, is that people tend to respond to you when you give them a gift. The whole point for the blank CDs, is that the track that’s on the competition’s website, will be burnt onto the disc to which the group can give along with the flyers. Normally people tend to shun flyers in public, but if you give them a CD case with a disc inside, curiosity may work in our favour and lead them to delve into the information on the flyer. Which then leads them onto the website.

3) Picking out a place in London that has alot of people going in and out. This place also needs to have our target age group for our product. I’d say West-End. It holds tourist as well as an ample amount of youths and among them adults that are into the entertainment industry (Music being one of them). Although we may need permission to promote in the West-End, that would require to fill out a consent form or something of that measure. And so for that, we would need to go onto the Westminster city council site since its in partnership with West-End.

4) Now presentation is key when your presenting something to someone. I’d say, that the group would need to dress the part to attract attention in public. I asked myself what would attract people’s attention? A (Mascot)!! I don’t know if Audiojack has a mascot but if they don’t, I’m sure they could at-least provide us with giant stuffed headphones for 8 peoples heads’. That would catch people’s attention especially if engagement is present on our part with the public. We could prance around with giant headphones on our heads while talking and handing out flyers and CDs.

5) While doing that, we could also advertise the competition in newspapers, the Metro being one of them and even the loot. Going back to the flyers, we could also post some off to youth clubs and even schools since our target age group is 15-30. Youth clubs and schools fits that age bracket.

As for the promotional videos, the link could be on the flyer to a Facebook page.
